When sorting cattle one day I had a more seasoned cowboy tell me, “Charlie, if you’ll get out of that horses way and let him work you’ll be a lot better off.” As his words sunk in I just looked at him like he’d slapped me upside the head because I knew he was right. I was holding that horse back and sending him in the wrong direction.
Letting Jesus work in our lives is a lot of the same. We just need to believe in Him, have faith He’ll send us in the right direction, then don’t hold Him back or get in his way. It took me a long time for that to sink in this ole hard head of mine.
As Pastor of Top Rail Cowboy Church, my goal is to stay out of the way of the Holy Spirit and let Him work. Jesus tells us in Matthew 28: 16-20:
16Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
To make disciples of all nations we have to start right here. At Top Rail Cowboy Church you will have the opportunity to grow in the Lord as He leads you, and you won’t have to jump through a lot of hoops that may get in your way. We are an easy going church congregation that doesn’t believe worship has to be put in a box. We try to make church fun but we don’t water down His Word. You’ll hear a simple message with a cowboy twang.
So gather up your herd and come on over for a visit. We’d love to chat over a cup of coffee.
God Bless,
